BJ a BJ
Apparently the Jays have come to terms with BJ Ryan, formerly of the Baltimore Oriels. Reportedly, a 5 year deal worth almost 50 million per season. With BJ as our closer, the Jays now have one of the deepest and most effective bullpens in the Majors. Starters are now pitching a six inning game in TO.
This begs the question what will JP do next? Reports indicate that he has his eye on AJ Burnett and Brian Giles. I for one hope that he pursues bats from here on in. AJ has great stuff, but has never put it together to reach his potential, and he may never do so. Giles however, continues to put up ridiculous numbers and is what I would consider to be a prototypical 3 spot hitter. Him and say Elrubiel Durazo would fit nicely in a Jays lineup before Wells Hillenbrand and Koskie.
Raps Vs. Hawks
I am now convinced that Rob Babcock and Sam Mitchell are co conspirators in sabotaging the Raptors season. But why you might ask? Because Bcock wants a team that can compete year in and year out. Right now, we do not have the talent to do so. So he figures he needs at least one more good draft to really set this team up for the future. How better than to grab a number one over all pick? So what they want to do is maximize the development of their young talent, and still loose.
Ok, so there’s a motive. But how, you may ask, do they intend to do this? Simple my friends. They are letting their young guys keep it close. And actually lead most of the game. They are getting valuable experiences. But, when crunch time comes he inserts Jalen Rose into the Line up. This guy gets owned on D, and throws up bricks on O, and single handedly looses the game. My only concern is the time frame here. Rose is on the books for two years, and bosh is an FA that year. If we suck for this year and next year, will Bosh want to resign? Hopefully Bcock can think of something.
Next year for Buffalo
Bills have sucked. Bottom third in both offense and defense is not a good sign. Looks like patriots will win the AFC east by default. Tom Donahue should be fired at the end of this season. We have some good pieces, but TD is not the person to finish the puzzle.
Let JP finish the season and lets se what this kid can do. Let McGahee run free.
